Brands capitalising on ‘dual screening’ to increase Twitter presence

Social media monitoring company Brandwatch analysed Twitter conversation during 50 of the top UK and US TV shows over the course of 2012, and found that TV brands that display a hashtag at the beginning of the show can increase conversation by nearly two thirds (63%).  

The research revealed how else brands are considering their online engagement, with 83% of all brands were found to be using an official hashtag in all or most of their tweets whilst 61% were regularly tweeting during the time of the actual broadcast.
